При переходе от схемы I к III эффективность СБ значительно снижается, что проявляется в увеличении размеров зерна, уменьшении изрезанности фронта ВР, уменьшении абсолютной величины температурного интервала протекания ВР.

Размер зерна готовой стали несколько возрастает, исчезают изрезанность границ кристаллитов....

Насколько я понимаю, применительно к отдельным кристаллам больше применяется термин "irregularity", а именно к фронту и другим протяженным границам и профилям, иногда процессам - "unevenness". Это подтверждает и гугл: http://www.google.com/search?q="unevenness of secondary... дает 3 ссылки, а http://www.google.com/search?q="irregularity of seconda... - ни одной.

Что касается определения слова irregular:
irregular - (of a surface or shape); not level or flat or symmetrical; "walking was difficult on the irregular cobblestoned surface";
"Rough Irregular Texture with metal trowel over 90% of the area..."
Irregular Shape - One that has no symmetry и т.д.
По смыслу, как мне кажется, подходит.

"Изрезанность может быть периодической" - в данном случае у нас нет данных, является ли она таковой.

В любом случае, это мое мнение, а любой из вас, конечно же, вправе иметь свое. А если еще и меня в этом удастся убедить, то тогда снимаю шляпу:)
