Estoy traduciendo al inglés estadounidense sobre el café: su historia, plantaciones, tipos de café, etc.
La pregunta es si "cultivate coffee" y "grow coffee" son lo mismo. En el texto original se habla de "cultivar café" y del "cultivo del café" pero en inglés tanto en glosarios, artículos como en Internet encuentro de todo un poco.

They can be used interchangeably. They both need an object in this sense. Having the whole sentence would help. But I might use both terms in the same sentence for stylistic variety.
cultivate - to prepare and work on (land) in order to raise crops;
to promote or improve the growth of (a plant, crop, etc.) by labor and attention.
grow - to cause to grow: They grow corn.
