trazado manual endo y epicárdico

Medical: Cardiology
Se calculó la fracción de eyección del ventrículo izquierdo (FEVI) y el volumen telediastólico del ventrículo izquierdo indexado, mediante el trazado manual endo y epicárdico en cortes sucesivos en eje corto en telesístole y telediástole.
My attempt:
The left ventricle ejection fraction (LVEF) and the indexed left ventricle telediastolic volume were calculated using manual tracing of endo- and epicardial borders on successive slices on the short axis in telesystole and telediastole.
"borders" may not fit, perhaps it should be "...using manual endo- and epicardial tracing on successive slices..."
Thoughts?

manual tracing....
This is the term, they use a writing instrument on the taken pictures in systole and diastole, to follow the endo- and epicardial lines and draw conclusions about the volume differences.

tracing & outline
my feeling is
"outline", "contour" or "margin" would be preferable to the word "borders"
All the best,
