Swedish term or phrase: Drifter
I'm translating a doc. about a new assembly line at a factory which makes truck cabs and I'm unsure of the translation of 'drifter' in the following:
Ersätta drifter och styrning till senaste tekniken

Can someone explain what 'drifter' is - do they mean drift as in steering drift or does it mean something else?

I've had trouble with your context, so am not sure what you are replacing -- production tools or parts on your truck cabs. Either way, though this looks like a reference to the many types of drives (and their control mechanisms) that you find in these tools or machines. I can think of 'servo drive' of the top of my head, but there are many others used in truck cabs or in producing these.
