Marketing - Retail / retail sales
Swedish term or phrase: butikskonsulent
This is the focus of a furniture chain's sales/marketing presentation where they declare that 'den traditionella säljaren är död...Länge leve konsulenten'

Gullberg's gives shop consultant but I'm wondering if sales consultant might be better, in contrast to the traditional salesperson. Any ideas?

retail consultant ; Sales Consultant; personal shopper
Explanation:
Another possibility. But \'sales consultant\', though vague, is also possible, because it is actually used as a title. In the company where I worked, the senior sales people were called \'Sales Consultants\'.
Yet another possibility these days might be \'personal shopper\' - a high class sales assistant.

Thank you. I think I'll go with sales consultant. It also appears as a job title in this company and seems appropriate.

In light of \"interior design consultant\" below, I\'d move on to:

home furnishing consultant
furniture consultant

The trouble with \"interior design consultant\" is that the sales assistant may not be qualified to (ab)use that title.

Explanation:
From the job descriptions I can find on the net it sounds like a store clerk, but that's not very catchy, so why not focus on the customer interaction instead ?
