believed

"kandım" is used in the meaning of "I believed, but it was wrong" or "I mistook (them) for an UFO"
But the meaning of the sentence is negative:
"ulan bugüne kadar kaç cisim kandım ki..." means "man, have I ever believed any of them so far? Of course not."

disagree Kim Metzger : Synonyms 1. eternally, perpetually, constantly. See always. http://dictionary.reference.com/browse/ever

disagree Tim Drayton : The verb is in the first person singular form of the past tense - I do not see how this can translate into a participle.
