only a comment Explanation: "Reviewer" is, unfortunately, the only thing that comes to mind, and it's probably OK. I am not sure if a position like референт exists in the United States. Maybe "advisor?" But that's more like a senior colleague. Actually, come to think of it, "Advisor" may be an alternative |

should be 'assistant' Explanation: probably 'associate' though less likely here it is not a 'higher-higher' education... should be 'tekhnikum' or some 'institut'. Therefore I would go for assistant + professional 'dsignation' (as per diploma) |
