0. Definities
Opleiding Onderwijs, opleiding, cursus en/of training, zowel afstandsonderwijs als contactonderwijs.
Ondernemer Onderneming die lid is van de NRTO en een educatieve dienst levert.
Opdrachtgever Onderneming, ongeacht haar rechtsvorm, die een educatieve dienst van de ondernemer afneemt.
1. Algemeen
De ondernemer die deze voorwaarden toepast is lid van de Nederlandse Raad voor Training en Opleiding (NRTO). De algemene voorwaarden zijn van toepassing op alle aanbiedingen, werkzaamheden, offertes en overeenkomsten voor training en opleiding tussen de ondernemer en opdrachtgevers, respectievelijk hun rechtsopvolgers.
2. Gedragsregels
Alle zakelijke opdrachten met betrekking tot training en opleiding worden uitgevoerd met inachtneming van de gedragscode beroep en bedrijf van de NRTO. Deze gedragscode kan bij het secretariaat van de NRTO worden opgevraagd.
De opdrachtgever en de ondernemer kunnen zich zodoende een beeld vormen van het vraagstuk, van de omvang van het project en de mogelijke resultaten daarvan. Mocht dit uitmonden in een vooronderzoek dan worden vooraf met de opdrachtgever de condities van dit vooronderzoek afgesproken.

0. Definitions
Education/Training Education, course, training course, distance learning as well as contact education.
Entrepreneur A company or institute who is a member of the NRTO and provides educational services.
Client A company, irrespective of its legal form, who makes use of the educational services supplied by the entrepreneur.
1. General
The entrepreneur who applies these terms and conditions is a member of the Dutch Council of Training and Education (NRTO). The general terms and conditions apply to all offers, activities, and contracts for training and education between the entrepreneur and their legal successor(s) on the one hand, and client(s) and/or their legal successor(s) on the other.
2. Rules of conduct
All business assignments concerning training and education are carried out with due regard for the Code of Conduct for Entrepreneurs and Companies of the NRTO. This Code of Conduct is available on request from the NRTO administrative office.
The client and the entrepreneur are in this way enabled to get a perception of the case in hand, the extent of the project and its possible results. Should this lead to a preliminary investigation, the terms and conditions of this preliminary investigation are agreed on with the entrepreneur.

Source text - Dutch Een herwaardering van hostfactoren bij virusinfecties. Zo valt de publicatie van immunoloog prof. dr. Janneke Pietersen en collega’s te duiden. Zij analyseerde de immuunreactie van CD200 knockout muizen na een infectie met influenza A. CD200 bindt aan de CD200-receptor onder meer op T- en B-cellen en heeft een remmende werking op het immuunsysteem.
De knockout muizen bleken, in tegenstelling tot controledieren, van een eenvoudige griep zeer ernstig ziek te worden. Ze konden wel twintig procent van hun gewicht verliezen. Het ontbreken van het remmende CD200-ligand zorgde kennelijk voor een pathologische immuunrespons. Maar hoe?
T-cellen boosdoeners
Om daar achter te komen manipuleerden Pietersen en collega’s het immuunsysteem van de knockoutmuizen vóór ze besmet werden met het griepvirus. Het blijkt dat muizen zonder CD200 maar ook zonder T-cellen weliswaar een hogere viral load hebben maar niet ziek worden.
Het klinkt tegenstrijdig. T-cellen verzorgen de afweer tegen virussen, maar door ze grotendeels weg te halen worden de muizen minder ziek van het griepvirus. Dat betekent dat T-cellen de voornaamste boosdoeners zijn – en niet zozeer het griepvirus.
‘Dat je ziek kunt worden van je eigen immuunsysteem is niet nieuw’, vertelt Pietersen. ‘Denk maar aan autoimmuunziekten. En het idee dat de Spaanse griep zo dodelijk was dankzij een heftige immuunrespons, een cytokine storm, bestaat ook al langer. Maar dat we de moleculen kunnen aanwijzen die daarvoor wellicht verantwoordelijk zijn is wel degelijk nieuw.’
Translation - English A revaluation of host factors in viral infections. This is the subject of the publication by immunologist, Prof Dr Janneke Pietersen and colleagues. She analysed the immune response of CD200 knock-out mice that were infected with influenza A. CD200 binds itself to the CD200-receptor on T- and B-cells, amongst other cells, and has an inhibitory effect on the immune system.
The knock-out mice, as opposed to control animals, appeared to become seriously sick from a simple flu. Some of them lost around twenty per cent of their body weight. The absence of the inhibitory CD200 ligand appeared to have caused a pathological immune response. But how is this possible?
T-cells malefactors
To find out, Pietersen and colleagues manipulated the immune system of the knock-out mice before they were infected with the influenza virus. It appears that mice lacking the CD200, but also lacking T-cells, have a higher viral load, yet do not become sick.
This seems to be inconsistent. T-cells produce a resistance to viruses, but by removing them to a large extent, the mice become less sick with the influenza virus. This means that T-cells are the main malefactors - and not the influenza virus as such.
'The fact that you can become ill from your own immune system is not something new', says Pietersen. 'Think of autoimmune diseases. And the idea that the Spanish flu was so deadly because of a massive immune response, called a cytokine storm, has also been around for a while. But what is new is that we can actually identify the molecules that may well be responsible for the immune response.'
