As a vinyl lover myself, I know that for a house move the albums would be a major logistical issue. So what you do with them kind of depends on the collection you have. As another responder has said, if you have original copies of certain records, they can be sold for a good price. If the discs are/were million-sellers, then they probably won't be worth so much. You could try to find a second-hand market near you and tell a vinyl seller about your collection, they will come and collect from you ... Seriously, though. Aside from those super-duper ultra-rare copies, are vinyl records really worth it? I've been wanting to start collecting them, but still not sure if this is a good way to spend my money. From what I read, they are very fragile, and the sound quality would degrade the more you play them. My biggest concern, however, is humidity. I reside in a tropical country, you see. Sometimes it feels like living in a sauna here. Could these LPs take such equatorial punishment? :/

... Going through some old files yesterday I found my original advertisement that I paid to have published in the now-defunct weekly magazine Loot (this was in the 1990s when the Internet was in its infancy)

I have many CD:s converted to MP3 and stored on the cloud. My app can play them all shuffled which makes fun, when after a song by SOAD comes a Russian romance sung by Hvorostovky and after that maybe Leonard Cohen or Georg Ots. Surprise me!

I have tried to sell my first albums, e.g. from the Beatles, however, the people asked if they were still unopened/unused and in original condition. They were not, so I didn't sell any of them.
In 2019 I offered my father's shellac records from his time during World War II in Germany and France at a garage sale in my community. The only person, who seemed to be interested was a guy who wanted to sell me HIS gramophone. So you see, it doesn't really make sense to hold on to old stuff... Saying that, after my husband passed away last year, I moved and took all his books with me, although my new home isn't that spacious. I donated his clothes and a lot of other things, but I just couldn't discard the books. They are full of underlined sentences he deemed important and also include his remarks. Well, I think it is time for me to take a closer look and gather the information...

For example, you can check what the cost of the first edition of Pink Floyd's The Wall album is, and how much modern reissues are. This is because the first pressing is also a limited edition in some capacity and the stock of copies offered in circulation will steadily shrink. That leaves us with good old LP records and CDs. I think both have advantages and disadvantages. Most audiophiles claim that LP sound is acoustically superior to CD sound albeit surface noise. I personally find both satisfying and adequate as far as audio quality is concerned. We can go into more technical details but I really do not want to. I will give a few websites below for those interested in technical details.
LP records are meant to be played at home, usually with high quality audio equipment. CDs, on the other hand, can be played both at home and in the car. In that respect, CDs are more versatile. You can just place a CD in your CD player, and it will start playing almost instantly. LP records need to be placed on the turntable first, then dusted, and played. Therefore, I find myself playing CDs much more frequently than records at home.

People keep saying that but I have no complaints. I'm a very attentive listener to music, and with the audio system I have, I hear every detail. I use Spotify all the time to explore music I would otherwise not know about. I don't sit worrying about the data compression or sound wave clipping or whatever. I use this old, and extremely good amplifier that has had to be repaired several times:

and if you saw the way I get Spotify on my PC through an HDMI cable to my Smart TV and then from the Smart TV through a DAC and a long cable to the NAD amplifier, your hair would stand on end. But I'm happy with it ! The sound is excellent!
