How to do a line count on Excel charts embedded in Powerpoint

Hi guys,
I'm hoping someone might be able to help. I am translating a Powerpoint file with several Excel charts which are embedded into it, so you have to click on the chart and the Excel file opens in a small window.
Not only is this annoying and time consuming, but I was wondering: If I use Practicount to do a line count of the document, does it actually count each of these Excel charts - some of the Excel files even feature several sheets.

Create PDF and convert PDF to RTF

Don't know about Practicount; if it can deal with embedded files, it would be quite clever indeed. Let's see if anyone else can provide information about it.
My current method (works only if you have Adobe Acrobat):
1. Create a PDF file from PowerPoint. 2. Save the PDF as RTF or alternatively select all text in Acrobat and paste it to Word. 3. Count words in Word. 4. Subtract headers/footers (they are counted separately for each page).

And yes, Word or Excel data embedded in PP is a pain, both to count and to edit.
