I have received a termbase from a client, but I'm working for the first time with "sent" termbase and don't know how to use it.
It seems like the project opens well.
I tried to create a termbase and import entries, process goes without errors, but after it's finished "processed 0 entries" appears.

What should I do to import/open the termbase I have?

Some basic questions: Mar 21, 2005

Which Multiterm DB version have you received from your client (5.5 or 6.5)?
Which Multiterm version do you have on your computer (5.5 or 6.5)?

BR,

Vesna

Which file format did they send you? Mar 21, 2005

Hi Natalya,

Not sure about their version

Can you ask your client?
Didn't they check which MT version you're using?

Which file format did they send? If it's a MTiX export (i.e. an XML file), did they also send you the termbase definition (.xdt)?

Best regards,
Ralf

Targeted instructions vs. guesswork Mar 21, 2005

Hi,
I asked them already but am trying to solve this too.

Fair enough - that said, they should give you clear instructions to start with...

I have xls, xdp, xml, log, ldb, xcl, xdt and two mdb's.

Looks like they exported anything that's possible...

Using the databases (.mdb) directly will be difficult, as you would need to replicate the exact directory structure, or adjust the path data in MTmaster.mdb (not recommended unless you're familiar with the process).

Try creating a new termbase using the .xdt file, then import the .xml file.

Best regards,
Ralf
