Da es sich hier scheinbar um einen mehr oder weniger equivalenten Abschluss zum "Masters" handelt, waere hier "major" als Hauptfach wohl passend. (as in: received a M.Sc. degree from XYZ University with a major in psychology).
Comment: "certainly correct, but in my case there major was used as well as this Liz-Fach, so I had to find another term. Thanks"
