I've tried Googling etc. and I get absolutely zilch...any ideas?

Da es sich hier scheinbar um einen mehr oder weniger equivalenten Abschluss zum "Masters" handelt, waere hier "major" als Hauptfach wohl passend. (as in: received a M.Sc. degree from XYZ University with a major in psychology).
