: "Terricolous" is a very erudite word, though, which should probably only really be used in an academic context. To be honest, even though I'm an avid wildlife reader and sometimes writer, I'd never heard the term before!

Thanks Anthony! I wasn't sure "terricolous" was a synonim for "terrestrial". I checked both in English and in Italian and in this context they are. And I guess "terrestrial" is definitely more common. :-)
