My question is what is the difference between the two?
My client's definition of lotisseur is:
Un lotisseur est une entreprise qui achète un terrain à bâtir pour y construire un certain nombre de maisons (et donc de constituer un lotissement). En effet, selon la loi française, lorsqu'un propriétaire possède une parcelle de terrain, il ne peut pas la diviser en plus de 2 parcelles constructibles. Au-delà de deux, il convient de faire une demande d'autorisation de lotissement. Le lotisseur devra alors prévoir toute l'infrastrructure (éclairage, route d'accès, parkings, raccordement aux réseaux, etc.) avant de commercialiser les maisons.
Which I would translate and have seen translated as developer.
My problem is that reference is also made to aménageur foncier... which sounds like it could be land development as well, but I have no further context for this term, except that it appears in a list of real estate agency activity (achats/ventes/ syndic, lotisseur, aménageur foncier, etc.).
Any thoughts are greatly appreciated.
