Arabic term

بلا قرف أنا البس عقد زي ده؟

Arabic to English Art/Literary Slang
the problem is بلا قرف it is said by a woman talking to another one refering to a necklace made of genuine pearls , though the woman doesn't like it

How tacky! I wouldn't wear such a thing!

Ghada, please refer to the explanation of my first answer to your question in regards to the difficulties in literary translation.

"What is she thinking, wearing such a piece of kitsch?" is another way of translating it.

I wouldn't be found dead wearing that!

"I wouldn't be found dead in that" is always said about stuff that people wouldn't wear on account of bad taste.

Yuck! Am I to wear this thing? / Yuck! Do you expect me to wear a necklace like this?

I think 'Yuck' is the strongest equivalent for يا للقرف

And I think we should keep the question a question, because the next reply will be based on it. Most probably, an answer with 'yes' or 'no'.

Search Yuck in google images, you will find very funny results.
