Discussion

Ana Brassara (asker) Apr 14, 2007:
Más contexto The company will be closing two weeks a year and requests all employees to use vacation time then.
There will be no one working in the office either of these weeks, however other departments may be required to work.
The first week will be either the 3rd or 4th week of July and the second week will be between Christmas and New Years, the actual dates of both weeks will be determined by the payroll schedule.
If you are not eligible for vacation or it was taken previously you will ***be off with unpaid time.****

If you are not eligible for vacation or it was taken previously you will ***be off with unpaid time.**** Si no elige vacaciones o las ha disfrutado previamente, gozará de permiso sin retribución /sueldo.
Note from asker:
Just a comment: "be eligible for vacation" significa que no cumple con los requisitos de la compañía para poder tomarse las vacaciones. No significa que el empleado "elige" no tomárselas.

No Ana, you do not need anything else, because the source text states that if the person has already taken their vacation....or if they are not eligible to take leave....., then the period of time (when the company is trying to get them to take their leave) would be an unpaid leave of absence or vacation period
Note from asker:
I think I need something else after "permiso", right? ¿Permiso para qué?

licencia no remunerada

No irá a trabajar, y no será remunerado por los días no trabajados. Son días no trabajados, aparte de aquellos otorgados por ley como vacaciones. Las vacaciones son días de descanso remunerados.
