English term

fact-finder

English to Spanish Law/Patents Law: Patents, Trademarks, Copyright productos farmacéuticos
"n. The judge or jury during a trial of a lawsuit or criminal prosecution that decides if the facts presented have been proven. In rare instances, the judge will appoint a special master to investigate certain fact's existence"
"Although an exact definition is elusive, “clear and convincing evidence” has been described as evidence that “place[s] in the ultimate factfinder an abiding conviction that the truth of its factual contentions are highly probable."
"However, the district court’s omission in this case is harmless error because evidence of record easily satisfies us that a reasonable fact-finder could only conclude that XXXXXX has shown by clear and convincing evidence that..."
Mil gracias!

Juzgador

In the usual civil trial, the plaintiff is required to prove the defendant liable by a “preponderance of the evidence.” That is, the plaintiff must prove that it is “more likely than not” that the defendant is liable. If the fact finder (the jury or the judge) believes the evidence is evenly balanced (50-50), then the verdict must be against the plaintiff, who did not meet his or her burden of proof.

determinador de los hechos

It is very often use in jury instructions in regards to the jurors themselves, the ones who must determine the facts. In this case, the meaning is similar.

instructor

Saludos
