The use of the term "pig lamp" is not limited to piggeries. These lamps are called "pig lamps" in the catering industry, the graphic industry and health care industry too (in the UK).

Or perhaps you can phrase it a bit better...In any case, it refers to those red lamps you put above young or sick animals. In Scotland, they use them for sheep :-) Must be a way of showing how this person has climbed the career ladder!
