Freelance translator/proofreader, working from Swedish, Danish and Norwegian into UK English. I studied aspsects of the environment (sewage and water treatment, power, pollution, noise, etc.) through the Open University and have done environmental translations. I also have substantial experience over 21 years in general and some specialist medical fields (e.g. cancer, diabetes, cardiovascular and psychology). Substantial experience also in legal contracts, disputes and other legal documents, including insurance terms and conditions.
MA in Translation included training in Economic/Financial, Legal and Technical/Scientific translation.
Standard rates: GBP 25 per hour for proofreading and minimum charge; GBP 64 per 1000 words target language (UK English), or GBP 67 per 1000 source text. For Europe: standard charges are EUR 0.1 per source word and EUR 0.095 per target word. NB: I use no CAT tools and use Office 2003 and Office 2010.
