Hello, I'm interested in an am doing research on Norwegian youth, street and college slang. What is orwegain slang for "tough guy" besides "harding, tøffing and barsking"? Please let me know. Thank you. :D

You can say he's a "tøff type". You can also say he's a "kul type" (cool guy). "Råskinn" (as suggested below) is also ok, but I doubt Norwegian youth would use "hardhaus".

Yes, "hardhaus" rings positive. Here is a discussion of the word:

"Hardt hode" does not have any particular meaning except "hard head", in the discussion above it is just an explanation of the linguistic origin of "hardhaus".

: "Hardhaus" is not slang. To me it sounds a little bit oldfashioned. It's not a word used by young people. It's a word my old father likes to use.
