escala 1:16 (en este ejemplo)

Calculé la escala en proporción y me resultó una cifra casi redondeada:

Una pulgada = 2.54 cm.
3/4 de pulgada (.75)= 1.905 cm
1 pie = 30.5 cm

Por regla de tres: 30.5 x 1 / 1.905 = 16.0104

Los decimales son tan insignificantes que probablemente la escala se obtuvo a partir del sistema métrico. De todas formas, la relación es lo importante y es más fácil de entender por parte del lector.

agree Jennifer Levey : In fact, if you don't convert to metric, it is *exactly* 1:16 (3/(12*4)) - the '.0104' comes only from the error in equating 1 inch to 2.54 cm.
