"Tout avis doit etre transmis par lettre recommandé avec accusé de réception ou par lettre remise contre décharge". I rhink it must be referring to a hand delivery but I can't think how we say it in English. The contract also refers to the "récépissé de décharge".

: Royal Mail seems to get worse and worse. Of course they don't bother with getting one to sign for French registered letters with accusé de reception.
