この記事のとおり、動画の最初に流れるコマーシャルって、本当にイライラしますよね。私もあれで見るのを止めることがよくあります（もともと、仕事の合間にクリックしているので、よいものなのかもしれませんが...）
今朝google ad ではなく、google news の記事を読んだところです。でも、こちらは gmail や you tube と違って低迷を続けているというものでしたが。yahoo も google と手を組もうとしているし、相変わらず話題の多い会社です。

またお邪魔します。今Forbes の記事を読んでみました。ちょっと辛口に書いてある気がしました。
元のフレーズからは多少外れますが、言いたいことだけをもっとトーンダウンした方が安全なら、「おもしろ動画」「ずっこけ動画」などでもいいかもしれません。

I didn't understand the reference until I looked at the article. I believe it is an example of 'wasted' advertising when an expensive advertisement ends being displayed on the same page as some material that is low quality, undesirable or would cast the product or service being advertised in a negative light.
Youtube is full of amateur content that is not of sufficiently high quality that companies want to spend to advertise. However, if more professional content can be developed for YouTube, it's attractiveness as an advertisement portal will grow.
The speaker might have used some other examples of bad quality videos such as teenagers practicing musical instruments, blowing up things in the back yard, etc.
Does this make sense?
