Spanish term

acreditar (in context)

Spanish to English Bus/Financial Accounting
I just need someone with any expertise to help me with the meaning of acreditar in the following phrase:
"La compañía XXX ACREDITA de la compañía YYY la cantidad de ... euros por suministros de productos acabados."
If you acreditar una cantidad de una compañía, is it an acknowledgment that the latter company has paid that sum to the former? Many thanks to anyone who can help!

credit/certify

Robert, both options exist: the company credits (the company is paying for the supply of products) and the company certifies the payment (the other enterprise is paying for the delivery of the goods) depending on your context

agree MikeGarcia : Sorry, Alice, no te vi, y nuestras respuestas son muy parecidas, así que "beauty before age"...// Como quieras, pero seguro que no tienes 63 años, como yo...y la belleza (exterior e interior) y el conocimiento no son antitéticos!!

makes a credit entry (in favour of)/confirms payment (from Company YYY)

This is the meaning of the word "acredita" in that context.

Check with the AVH Financial Dictionary, pages 723 "abono 2", "abono en cuenta", and 732 "acreditar 3".-
