Tu texto proviene sin duda de Inglaterra. Sigo fielmente los programas de moda de la BBC (What not to wear).
Entiendo que utilizan este término como la calle principal en la que se encuentran los negocios de moda (franquicias, centros comerciales).
Es donde se ven las tendencias y se vende mucho.

Una característica notable/remarcable/distintiva
del área comercial/ de la zona o calle en la que se concentran las tiendas de moda (negocios si es para Argentina) es ...

Looking at your suggestions below, regarding \"high street fashion\", I think they\'re coming at the term from the wrong end. Here it seems to me that the text is talking about the physical location of XXX store on the city\'s High Street. I.e. \"XXX is a notable feature of the High Street.\" Maybe not, but it does make perfect sense.
