Portuguese term

carência

Portuguese to English Medical Psychology
This word is pretty clear in Portuguese when it refers to the emotional feeling of need or loneliness, but I just can't find a word for it in English. Any hints?

emotionally dependent/needy or emotional dependence

I would translate it as emotionally dependent or needy. I think you need to add that 'emotional' factor in.
Note from asker:
Thanks! I'm going to use "neediness" in this context.

Note from asker:
Oi Silvia.
