Discussion

Angie Taylor (asker) Feb 28, 2010:
I really have no idea to be honest. The specifications are highly technical, but don't actually say exactly what the mould will be used for. Sorry.
kashew Feb 28, 2010:
Another angle: could it mean "finition brute"?
Bashiqa Feb 28, 2010:
Thanks for the info but 'medical equipment' covers a whole range of 'things' - plastic, metal, ceramic to name but a few. A few more clues please.
Angie Taylor (asker) Feb 28, 2010:
It's a mould for making medical equipment.
Bashiqa Feb 28, 2010:
toile could of course be tole, which would put brut in the feminine.
mchd Feb 28, 2010:
le fait que l'adjectif "brut" soit employé au féminin me laisse perplexe, de même que brut de toile. A quoi servent ces moules ? Quels types de produits sont-ils sensés fabriquer ?
Bashiqa Feb 28, 2010:
Mould Mould for what? Hot rolled sheet can and often is used for mould making in the plastics industry or even for moulding concrete.
Angie Taylor (asker) Feb 28, 2010:
Oui le texte est ecrit dans un francais correct, mais cette phrase est peut-etre une abreviation, puisqu'il s'agit d'un tableau.
mchd Feb 28, 2010:
le texte vous semble-t-il écrit dans un français correct ?

Very strange that you are talking about moulds and 'brute de toile' at the same time. My answer is to give you a clue in the hope that you can decipher the question.

Obviously the question was a heading and not complete. Your client's answer is quite logical. i.e. when preparing the mould it should be rubbed down with ' abrasive paper ......' to finish the surface. Or something on those lines. Thanks for the info.
Note from asker:
Thanks for your contributions to this question. According to the client, the translation is "abrasive paper with grain size of 240"
