French term

pastilles à pression

French to English Tech/Engineering Electronics / Elect Eng Electrical fixtures, accessories
This is from specifications; the title of this document is 'outlet and junction boxes and accessories'. The full line is: Pastilles à pression pour empêcher les débris de pénétrer dans les débouchures.

I've got the rest (to prevent debris from falling in the conduit knock-outs).
Is snap-on discs possible? I don't get any relevant google hits for this.

This is Quebec French.

seals or plugs (as your ref. shows. Clanola), but I'd avoid using plug in this electrical context. Seal is less ambiguous.
Note from asker:
Thanks so much, Wordeffect. I went with snap-in knock-out seals. Thanks also to Tony and Chris C. who gave good answers. Grommets and stoppers, they work well, too!

Thanks, Tony! I've now discovered that my dad calls them "blind grommets", but this has unfortunate connotations for fans of modelling clay film stars.

neutral writeaway : the context 'outlet and junction boxes and accessories' has nothing at all to do with the ref provided here

disagree Alison Sabedoria (X) : I've never seen junction boxes plugged with sweets!
7 mins
disagree Tony M : Wouldn't make much sense at all in the quite specific context as given.

neutral Chris Hall : I am being kind by giving a neutral feedback. I think that this answer is inappropriate within the context given.

push-fit OR press-in stoppers

You'll ave to research yourself to check just how common these terms are; but I feel sure this is referring to the kind of soft plastic (usually PVC) 'bungs' that can be used to blank off unused holes, and which are usually simply pressed into place by hand.
Peer comment(s):

agree Alison Sabedoria (X) : I'm sure an electrician would recognise this, official term or not. I've got a bag full somewhere, but next rewiring I'll just use Strepsils. =)

Thanks, W/E! LOL.
agree chris collister : Probably incorrectly, I just used to call them grommets, whether they were solid or holy. I have a boxfull of hard plastic ones with a little flexible bit at the side to hold them in

Thanks, Chris! Yes, indeed, i know them better as 'blind grommets' too, but I guess these may be more modern and made of a different material.
