Discussion

Pablo Strauss Apr 11, 2010:
I know French labour law offers FAR greater protection to workers, but...
For me, if the collective agreement is already in place for fast food workers, and is being extended to delivery workers, it suggests that we are dealing with a chain that has both restaurants with seating and delivery outlets.
Unless the government puts in place the convention collective - this could be possible in France (though it would be inconceivable in Canada).
Claire Nolan Apr 11, 2010:
Meal delivery vs. catering service If it meant catering, wouldn't it have said 'service de traiteur'?
I see 'restauration livrée' as different from 'catering service'. Usually a caterer is used for larger dinners or banquets, not for a few meals delivered to one's home.

catering delivery industry

If this is a convention collective, this refers to an industry, not outlets or specific services. As restauration involves the provision of food and beverages, I would refer to this as the catering delivery industry.

meals on wheels

a suggestion, although without more context difficult to know whether it would be suitable
Peer comment(s):

neutral Carol Gullidge : as you say, without more context... But Meals on Wheels is a specific service for those unable to get out of the home, so this risks being an over interpretation. But not one to be totally disregarded, pending more info :)

(food) delivery outlets

The french looks strange to me, but it seems logical that it would be delivery.
If you use "fast food" then "delivery outlets" would work on its own the second time.

Thanks, Colin!
agree MatthewLaSon : Hi. Not sure if "service" is necessary. There is "service de restauration". The idea is having meals delivered to your home, work place, etc.
