In this context, the agents are NOT special cleanup agents or accidental agents. They are the main reagents used in the system, which is a chemical system. "Reactive agents" is simply unidiomatic in this context. The correct term used by chemical engineers is "reagents"!

Discussion
A 'reactivo' cannot be designed with any kind of containment system. It's a chemical product, not part of any sort of construct¡on designed to protect the environment.
