脱臭
まったくのguessですが、汚れではなく、臭いのことでは？deという単語には「脱」という意味があるのと、prevention of surface foulingが表面の汚れ防止、そしてdefouling surfacesは表面の臭いを取る、つまり脱臭すると考えたのですが、どうでしょうか。
