German term

ist eine Übertragbarkeit unwahrscheinlich

German to English Medical Medical: Pharmaceuticals SmPC
"In einer Kanzerogenitätsstudie an Ratten kam es auf der Basis degenerativer Leberveränderungen vereinzelt zur Bildung von Lebertumoren. Bei therapeutischer Dosierung ist eine *Übertragbarkeit dieser Befunde auf den Menschen unwahrscheinlich*."

So far:
"improbable that this finding could/would also apply in/to humans" / "that this finding could be extrapolated to humans" but am hoping that the pithiness factor can be ameliorated here...
TIA for you help.

"unlikely that this finding can be extrapolated to man"

Basically a rewording of your own suggestion - see e.g.

"that the findings can be extrapolated to man is probably invalid. ... unlikely to be metabolised as efficiently in man as it is in ...

"If this finding can be extrapolated to man, there
exists the likelihood of defective synthesis of 5HT in
early life."

"extrapolated to humans" also works, as Marga suggests - and could be regarded as a less sexist formulation...
Note from asker:
Thanks David, also came up with "unlikely" in the mean time, much better than "improbable".
Peer comment(s):

agree Marga Shaw : Yes, an elegant solution. Perhaps one could also say "extrapolated to humans"?

...translating these findings into human application is unlikely

This might be an option you could use.

transferable

Hello

You could try "it is unlikely that these findings (or "results") are (or "would be") transferable to humans". There are many example of "transferable" used in this way on the Internet. (By the way, "Befunde" is plural - but you've probably already noticed that.)

Hope this helps

Michael

The findings are transferable to humans (link 1)

the results of laboratory animal studies are not always transferable to humans (link 2)
