I'm not sure of the meaning of "break" in the following context. Any help would be appreciated.
"The study of Part 1 of this module should take you around 20 hours of study time. The module is divided in two to conveniently break your study and allow you to summarize your study appropriately".

i.e. 10 hours - break - 10 hours

: I 'd prefer your first option, as that break would be useful to "summarize your study appropriately"

: 'Break' in the sense of split/divide is already present in the sense but now they are talking about taking time to summarize.

cut-off or interrupt or stop
The text is using the word break in the sense of break off, or cut off, or interrupt.
The phrase is used in a similar way in these examples:
Study Note: This section should take around 6 hours to study. If you have
less time, you could conveniently break your study just before the section on
PCT, which is about halfway through the module.

Study Note: This module should take around 5 hours to study. If you have
less time, you could conveniently break your study after audio segment 4.

The native English speaker would also sense the meaning of "take a break from your study at a convenient/appropriate place in the lesson."
It is also implied that you will begin again after you break (take a break).
