French term

l’ayant droit à titre d’héritier

French to English Law/Patents Law (general)
This is from a contract assigning rights to the adaptation of a literary work. I'm not sure how to translate this as it refers to the status of a company with regard to the deceased author of the work. The full context is:

La société X est l’ayant droit à titre d’héritier de Y.

Thank you.

writeaway Nov 11, 2011:
Standard translations already rejected? Have the standard translations for ayant droit, à titre de and héritier already been rejected or are they unsuitable for this context?
