French term
La commodification progressive des services de santé
French to English
Social Sciences
Medical (general)
The term posing the problem is "commodification" which, I believe, is a "faux ami" in English.
This is from an article about the streamlining of health services in the 21st century and how this may affect hospitals' relationships with their community.
Thanks!

progressive commodification of health care services
I think the English term "commodification" is fine here.
Commodification refers to those processes through which social relations are reduced to an exchange relation [...]

If there's a faux ami anywhere, it's on the French side where, at least according to the GDT, the term marchandisation should be used instead. Here's the last line of the Note from the GDT:

SJLD
: it's not a faux ami, even in French, because a) it's not a French word and b) it doesn't have a different meaning when used in French - it's an anglicisme

That said, 'commodification' still outpolls 'commoditis/zation' handily (4:1) in a Google search of webpages in English. Not a faux ami at all. Blame Karl Marx for it.
Not in my everyday vocabulary, but perhaps it's the French term that is "false." ;-)
