Fond rather bottom For blind flange I should have rather seen "bride pleine" or "bride aveugle", "fond" ratehr means usually something horizontal in the bottom, but if the pipe is vertical or almost (conduite forcée).

By the way the French vocabulary seems dubious "robinet sphérique" is usually "vanne à bille", has this been written by a native engineer?

@ Kelly I don't know for sure, but I suspect it is going to be soemthing similar; in any event, I feel pretty sure that the 'plein' is going to have the same meaning here — something solid that in some way blocks...

I suspect... ...this is the same as a 'bride pleine', though I have no actual concrete evidence of that. But it might be an avenue for research...

Also fits together with "robinet condamné".
"si le fond plein est installé ou le robinet condamné" describes two ways of stopping the water flow.
