"Scientific editor" is OK if the subject matter relates to the hard sciences, but the qualifier is unnecessary in English. Not all learned disciplines are "sciences" in the modern sense.
The editor is responsible for what gets published. The publisher publishes it.

When you see a name followed by "(ed.)" in the title of a scholarly tome with multiple contributing authors, you can translate that in French as 'éditeur intellectuel'.

NOT just sciences. Literary journals can have 'éditeurs intellectuels'; same in history, etc. In context with the title of a scholarly publication, 'editor' is not too wide.

: misunderstanding of the reference quoted: a "bibliography" is the list of works on a given subject, often attached at the end of a piece of science writing. An "Éditeur intellectuel" has a remit ways ways wider than just editing bibliographies.
