Russian term

скупо кивнул

Russian to English Art/Literary Poetry & Literature
-Лезь, - он скупо кивнул на автомобиль. – И без глупостей. Рыпнешься – прострелю ногу.
Я ему верил. В его голосе не было истерики или волнения, только констатация факта.

Looking for a good adjective.
The way I understand it, скупо here means a combination or miserly and crude or something to that effect.
I can't quite find the right word.
Thank you!

nodded curtly / gave a curt nod

Is what I'd use -- 'curt' implies lack of ceremony.
