French term

expertise du mois

French to English Marketing Marketing / Market Research magazine article
Hi,

This is a heading "Expertise du mois, par Jean X" This is for a financial magazine

I think that" expertise" in this case remains "expertise" in English

Maybe it's simply "expertise of the month"..expert assessment of the month..hmm

Thank you for any input!
Change log

Dec 3, 2012 19:46: Wolf Draeger changed "Level" from "Non-PRO" to "PRO"

Votes to reclassify question as PRO/non-PRO:

PRO (3): cc in nyc, Yolanda Broad, Wolf Draeger

When entering new questions, KudoZ askers are given an opportunity* to classify the difficulty of their questions as 'easy' or 'pro'. If you feel a question marked 'easy' should actually be marked 'pro', and if you have earned more than 20 KudoZ points, you can click the "Vote PRO" button to recommend that change.

How to tell the difference between "easy" and "pro" questions:

An easy question is one that any bilingual person would be able to answer correctly. (Or in the case of monolingual questions, an easy question is one that any native speaker of the language would be able to answer correctly.)

A pro question is anything else... in other words, any question that requires knowledge or skills that are specialized (even slightly).

Another way to think of the difficulty levels is this: an easy question is one that deals with everyday conversation. A pro question is anything else.

When deciding between easy and pro, err on the side of pro. Most questions will be pro.

* Note: non-member askers are not given the option of entering 'pro' questions; the only way for their questions to be classified as 'pro' is for a ProZ.com member or members to re-classify it.

Trudy Peters Dec 3, 2012:
Do you know the name of the magazine? You may be able to find something on Google.
Louisa Tchaicha (asker) Dec 3, 2012:
Unfortunately I do not have the article, all I have is the table of contents, it's part of the "Cahier stratégies".
cc in nyc Dec 3, 2012:
More context? What's the gist of the article?

Expert Report of the Month

(Monthly) Expertise Highlight

"expertise of the month" doesn't sound right to me.

Focus and Highlight have the benefit that they are both vague, like the original, since you don't really know if this section has a "report" format, although it sounds like it, or if it's considered an "opinion," likely too, but you don't really know.

If it's a monthly magazine, the "monthly" becomes sort of optional.

After some more thought, maybe simply "Skill of the Month"?

neutral writeaway : strategy for expertise? agree it's a shot in the dark

Then we agree! ;-) // BTW, that's financial strategy of the month, as would be understood (IMO) in the context of a financial magazine.
