I think that even if B. Vaussion is the patron (he does not necessarily have to have "sponsored" it - which would imply giving money etc. which may well not be the case),
it appears that each year/promotion has a name (rather like the ENA - yes, I know the two things are hardly comparable!!)

Cette 55ème édition était dédiée à Paul Haeberlin, grand cuisinier (3 étoiles depuis 1967 à l’Auberge de l’Ill à Illhausern, 68) et formateur renommé disparu en 2008. Son fils et successeur Marc présidait le jury dégustation.
