- Insert huméral avec plot à écailles (guidage et clipsage), partie conique (stabilité) et rainure (évacuation de l'air).
This is taken from a specification / instructions for use of a shoulder prosthesis. The 'plot' as I understand it is a 'peg'.... but so far I have drawn a complete blank on the 'ecailles' bit.... scales? Any ideas? The pegs can be of different lengths, but this would appear to suggest they can be of different textures too...?

then you could call this feature "stair-step" instead; note that this humeral stem design also has "grooves" on the distal end to let air escape when the implant is being press-fitted into the canal.
