They're just like many other pairs of words used to refer to the same thing. Also, I feel that social semiotics is a more casual or maybe descriptive term for sociosemiotics. Consider, for example, Yule's "The study of language", which simply means linguistics. Another example of the kind may be "high blood sugar" and "diabetes mellitus".
