French term

licenciée pour motif personnel

French to English Bus/Financial Human Resources
Industrial tribunal.

Madame X has been a problem for the other staff over some time. Various disciplinary offences, etc.

"Et, par lettre recommandée avec accusé de réception en date du 16 mars 2013, Madame X a été licenciée pour motif personnel."

Can you be "dismissed on personal grounds"? Or is it more like "on personnel-related grounds"?

Dismissal on personal grounds

This is dismissal for reasons imputable to the employee.

It may of course be disciplinary – i.e. based on the employee’s misconduct (in which case it must occur within two months thereof), or nondisciplinary.

4 KudoZ points awarded for this answer. Comment: "thank you. It seems a bit hard to be able to dismiss someone "on personal grounds"... makes me think "because they smell"... Anyway, French civilization works these things out differently."

dismissed for personnel reasons

This person seems to have been dismissed because they could not get on well with other fellow employee.

disagree Steffen Walter : 'personal', not 'personnel' / Sure but it's got to be 'personal' in this case, as in 'the personal relationship(s) with other employees'.

Did you bother to take a look at the link? The difference between "personal" and "personnel" is not lost on me.
disagree Anne Bohy : personnel ne peut être qu'un adjectif ici, pas un nom. Donc votre traduction ne convient pas.
