Spanish term

andamio peritar

Spanish to English Tech/Engineering Construction / Civil Engineering
This is from an interview with an Argentine artist working on a major project in the public space:

Nosotros tenemos que lograr la instalación en una operación comando; no hay duda que esto mismo podría hacerse de otra forma, construyendo un andamio peritar a la estructura, trabajando durante un mes o un mes y medio y lograr...

Is this a specific term? Or is a the literal translation "expert scaffolding" acceptable?
Thanks!

I think it must be a typo, you're right! THanks!

Or... It could also be ellipsis of "para" (construyendo un andamio para peritar a la estructura)...

andamio perimetral Have you considered he might have meant "andamio perimetral"?

Proposed translations

+1
1 day 3 hrs

Peer comment(s):

expertly designed scaffolding

I think the key here is the comparison between two ways to accomplish the desired goal, the installation: 1. Do it as a commando operation - don't make an elaborate plan, just jump right in & do it, deal with any problems as they occur; or 2. Make a formal plan, have the scaffolding carefully & formally designed by an expert, & maybe 1 or 1-1/2 months later, the installation is completed.
