French to English Marketing Textiles / Clothing / Fashion description of mens trousers
This comes from a description of mens trousers;

"Pantalon beige, gabardine coton/élasthanne légèrement émerisée, très agréable au porté, coupe fuselée, poches cavalière bordées d'un passepoil coton ton sur ton, finition traditionnelle, hausse de taille et biais sur couture arrière."

Any suggestions as to what "hausse de taille" means here would be welcome!

I think the best thing is to ask the client what they mean exactly by 'hausse de taille'. Will come back with the answer.

@Petitavoine That's an interesting reference and the word "hausse" is used there in the sense of improvement. In English, I think that would be a waistband facing.

Looks odd to me, "au porté", élasthanne masc. so émerisé, etc. so I suspect a mistyping for haut de taille (see http://stiff-collar.com/2013/12/09/la-hauteur-du-pantalon/)

My suggestion was partially based on the Langenscheidt Textile and Fashion Dictionary (Textil und Mode).
For "waistband", they suggest "ceinture" and "hausse de ceinture".
Their description of waistband is: (of trousers/pants or skirt - a faced and interfaced band of fabric attached to the waistline of trousers and skirts and forming the upper part of them).

@Jane Going by the price (high), style (classic, not at all trendy) and choice of model, I'd say the target audience is probably men in their late thirties, forties and above...

I don't think the trousers are particularly aimed at older men. I think I'll keep it vague and go for something like high waistband.

Polyglot's excellent reference made me think again: could it be a waist adjuster? Again, which would go with a trouser marketed for the older man with an expanding waist....Can't see on the image as the waistband is covered by a belt.

I can only think it's a high waist, even though it's expressed so oddly. Looking at the image of the trouser, it does look like the waist is quite high (and clearly targeted at the older man who wouldn't want trews hanging round his hips like all the 'djeunes'...).
