Velcro (R)

It normally IS Velcro --- I don't know of a generic term to avoid the registered trade mark, but I think it would have to be something like 'hook-and-loop quick-release fastener' --- if I were you' I'd sticj with Velcro!

Dusty is right - it IS velcro, although 'scratch' is a slang term, often used when talking about children's clothes / shoes...
