French term

phacophagie

French to English Medical Medical (general) cataracts surgery
From a surgical report "phacphagie OD pour cataracte". I only get a few ghits for the obvious phacophagia or phacophagy, which all appear to be translations.

Discussion

Charles Davis Mar 23, 2016:
@Joan You are right. "Phacophagy" and "phacophagia" occur only in translations, nearly all from French (I found one from Romanian and one from Russian too). I can't find a single instance in the work of a native English-speaking ophthalmologist.
Drmanu49 Mar 23, 2016:
The argument would be identical in any language, nevertheless it is used in French and English
philgoddard Mar 23, 2016:
Phaco means pertaining to the lens.

Phagia means ''eating".
I agree that phacophagia doesn't look very likely given that it gets so few hits.
