In this context, it appears that the ship is equipped in such a manner that it has become pushy.

agressive, dominating and pushes other ships from being noticed, because of the conversion. This ship can just not be ignored.

"in the 280 Ton displacement ship"
"in the 280 Ton draught ship"

The weight refers to the weight of the water which the hull displaces when it is "afloat", and not to the weight of the ship itself.

Die Verdrängung=Displacement, however the syntax of the sentence in question makes me propose the a.m. term.
At the moment I cannot find any cross-references, I just remember applying such a term a couple of years ago...
