English term

Qantum negotiations

English to German Law/Patents Law: Contract(s)
All,

I am translating a cost agreement between a law firm and a client for the purpose of a class action.

The sentence in question reads:

"Stage 3: Post-mediation stage
Following the round of **Quantum negotiations** expected to occur subsequent to any court-ordered mediation, there will then be either:
Certain administrative processes which will need to be followed to implement any settlement agreement which have been reached and approved by the Court, or
The prospect of preparing for and attending on a trial of the case if no settlement agreement is reached."

Source text is from Australia; teh client is is Germany.

Many thanks.

Peter

Amount vs. Method Both meanings make kind of sense here.
www examples for amount: "Direct coverage and quantum negotiations for complex claims with Insurers" / "Quantum negotiations of numerous passenger claims arising from the client's collision with a double-decker bus in central London"

Method with this name: http://www.quantumnegotiation.com

As the phrase is used in a cost agreement, I would think we are talking about amounts, though.
To be on the safe side, I would also recommend checking with the author of the text.

Durchaus möglich dass es sich um Aufteilung geht. Client fragen?
Expertlang Feb 2, 2017:
Könnte es sich hier nicht ganz einfach um die Verhandlungen bezüglich Betrag/Umfang/Menge handeln
siehe Quantum hier https://books.google.co.uk/books?id=z1pNK50u6YMC&pg=PA1326&l...

Methodolgy Quantum negotiation is a specialised method of mediating emotion & prejudice-free discussions. Seems to be based on the Harvard Method. I would imagine these are held with the help of a professional mediator. Perhaps just write "Verhandlungen ('quantum negotiations')" or ask client for advice and references.
