: yes as a general description of what you want to achieve in post-production, but I can't see that as a technical term describing any specific operation/manipulation with the images [like correcting contrast / luminosity etc ...]

I think that polishing (up), like "lissage" covers all the processes that go into improving the visual and sound quality of the finished recording.
